Class 11 Maths Formulas – Chapter-wise List

This class 11 maths formulas hub collects every NCERT Class 11 Mathematics chapter into one list. Each chapter has its own formula sheet, and the directory below takes you straight to it.

The directory covers all 14 chapters of the revised syllabus. If you already know the chapter you are revising, jump straight from the directory; if you are not sure, scan the one-line descriptions first and pick the chapter that matches your problem.

For every other class, the maths formulas hub keeps the same kind of chapter-wise sheets together.

  • Sets — Set operations, subsets, Venn diagrams and De Morgan’s laws; this is the notation every later chapter assumes you know.
  • Relations and Functions — Ordered pairs and the Cartesian product lead to domain, range and the standard functions with their graphs.
  • Trigonometric FunctionsRadian measure, trigonometric identities, sum and multiple-angle formulas, and general solutions of trigonometric equations.
  • Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations — The imaginary unit i with conjugate, modulus and polar form, plus quadratics whose roots are complex numbers.
  • Linear Inequalities — Solving one-variable inequalities and graphing two-variable inequalities on the coordinate plane.
  • Permutations and Combinations — The counting principle and factorial notation behind nPr and nCr; permutations count arrangements where order matters, while combinations count selections where it does not.
  • Binomial Theorem — The expansion of (a+b)^n with its general and middle terms, and Pascal’s triangle for reading off coefficients quickly.
  • Sequences and SeriesArithmetic and geometric progressions, their means, and the sums of the first n natural numbers, their squares and cubes.
  • Straight LinesSlope, the angle between two lines, the standard forms of a line, and the distance formulas.
  • Conic Sections — The circle, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola, each with its focus, directrix and latus rectum.
  • Introduction to Three Dimensional Geometry — The coordinate axes in space, plus the distance and section formulas extended to three dimensions.
  • Limits and Derivatives — Intuitive limits, the algebra of limits, derivatives from first principles, and the standard derivative formulas.
  • StatisticsMean deviation, variance, standard deviation and the coefficient of variation.
  • ProbabilitySample space, events, the axiomatic approach to probability, and the addition theorem for combined events.

How to use this class 11 maths formula hub

There are two working routes through this page.

  • Route 1 — direct lookup: you are revising one chapter right now, so find it in the directory and open its formula sheet.
  • Route 2 — book order: if you are starting fresh, follow the NCERT order. Sets and Relations and Functions build the notation that Trigonometric Functions uses, and Sequences and Series prepares you for Limits and Derivatives.

One caution: the current NCERT Class 11 Mathematics book has 14 chapters. The older 16-chapter list also carried Principle of Mathematical Induction and Mathematical Reasoning; both are deleted from the revised syllabus, so ignore older chapter lists that still include them.

If you want to check any formula against the official source, download the current textbook from ncert.nic.in.

How the 14 chapters group together for revision

Revising by theme lets you work through related formula sheets together instead of following the book order blindly.

Theme Chapters
Foundations and functions Sets; Relations and Functions; Trigonometric Functions
Algebra and counting Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations; Linear Inequalities; Permutations and Combinations; Binomial Theorem; Sequences and Series
Coordinate geometry Straight Lines; Conic Sections; Introduction to Three Dimensional Geometry
Calculus Limits and Derivatives
Data and probability Statistics; Probability

If you are weak in one theme, practise that group’s formula sheets before moving to the next group.

What is inside each class 11 maths formula sheet

Every chapter formula sheet follows the same layout, so you know what you are opening.

  • Formula list with conditions. Each formula carries the condition under which it works. For example, the nPr and nCr formulas need n greater than or equal to r, and the sheet states that condition next to the formula.
  • Worked examples. Fresh numbers, not the solved examples from the textbook, with every step shown.
  • Common mistakes. The mix-ups that cost marks, with the correction. The most common: permutations are for arrangements where order matters, while combinations are for selections where order does not matter.
  • Revision tips. A short way to recall the whole chapter quickly.

One study method that works: read a formula, cover it, write it from memory, then check it against the sheet. Repeat the ones you get wrong.

Frequently asked questions about class 11 maths formulas

How many chapters are there in class 11 maths?

The revised NCERT Class 11 Mathematics book has 14 chapters, from Sets to Probability. The directory above is the complete chapter-wise list, and every chapter links to its own formula sheet.

Which chapters are deleted from class 11 maths in the revised syllabus?

Principle of Mathematical Induction and Mathematical Reasoning are deleted. Older 16-chapter lists still show them; the revised book does not, so the count is now 14 chapters.

Which class 11 maths chapter has the most formulas?

Trigonometric Functions and Conic Sections carry the longest formula lists, because both need many identities and standard forms. Exact counts vary by how you divide the formulas, so compare the two sheets when you are short on time.

Are class 11 maths formulas important for class 12?

Yes. Derivatives, functions, probability and sequences and series all return in Class 12 Mathematics, usually in harder problems. Keep the class 11 maths formula sheets for revision before Class 12 exams.
