Chemistry Formulas for Classes 9-12: NCERT Chapter-wise Hubs

Chemistry formulas for Classes 9 to 12 are collected here as chapter-wise revision sheets, each grounded in the official NCERT textbooks used by CBSE schools. Start on this page when you need a formula for homework, a class test, or board-exam revision.

Use the directory below to reach the right class hub in one glance. Each class hub lists formulas with their units and conditions, so you can copy what you need and apply it to an NCERT exercise without hunting through several chapters.

The hubs are grouped in two class bands: Classes 9 and 10 for secondary-level calculations, and Classes 11 and 12 for senior secondary material. All four class hubs in this silo are available.

Classes 1 to 8 are not covered because chemistry is not an independent CBSE subject before Class 9.

How to use these Chemistry Formulas hubs

  1. Pick your class from the directory above.
  2. Open that class hub and find the chapter group your question belongs to.
  3. Copy the formula with its units and conditions.
  4. Apply it to the NCERT exercise you are solving.
  5. Keep the sheet for later revision.

These are lookup and revision sheets, not derivations. If you are unsure whether a formula is correct, verify it on the official NCERT textbook portal, which lists the prescribed textbooks class by class.

The most common calculation error is using a formula without its units or conditions. Every class hub therefore states the units and conditions next to the formula.

What each class hub has inside

Each class hub follows the same pattern: formulas grouped by chapter, with units and conditions attached. The four hubs differ in what they expect from you.

  • Class 9 – the first dedicated chemistry formula year. The hub serves students who are building the basic quantities, symbols, and unit conversions used in later classes.
  • Class 10 – the first board-exam year. The hub supports revision for calculation-based questions in the science paper.
  • Class 11 – the senior secondary foundation year. The hub carries a wider formula set and more abstract quantities than the secondary years.
  • Class 12 – the final board-exam year. The hub holds the advanced formula groups that support numerical questions in the board paper.

Chemistry Formulas hub: common questions

Are these chemistry formulas from the NCERT textbooks?

Yes. Every formula sheet in this hub is drawn from the official NCERT textbooks prescribed by CBSE. The official NCERT portal is the verification source when you are unsure about a formula.

Which classes do the chemistry formulas hubs cover?

Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12. Classes 1 to 8 are not covered because chemistry is not a separate CBSE subject before Class 9.

Do you give derivations of the formulas or only the formulas?

The hubs are lookup and revision sheets, not derivations. Each entry gives the formula, its units, and the conditions under which it applies, so you can use it in an NCERT exercise or revise it quickly before an exam.

How do I find a specific chemistry formula, like molarity or the mole concept?

Open your class hub from the directory above and look for the chapter group that contains the topic. Each hub orders formulas by chapter, so molarity appears in the senior secondary hubs and the mole concept appears in Class 9 as well as in Class 11.
