Class 10 Science Important Questions (Chapter Wise)

Looking for class 10 science important questions? This page is the chapter-wise starting point for Class 10 Science revision, built from the CBSE syllabus and grouped by marks — 1, 2, 3, and 5 — so you practise questions the way they actually show up in the board paper.

Science at this level covers three strands: Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Not every chapter page is live yet — some are ready now, and the rest are marked coming soon below so you know exactly what you can use today.

Chapter Wise Class 10 Science Important Questions

Three chapters have a live important-questions page right now — two from Chemistry and one from Physics. Here is what each one covers:

  • Chemical Reactions and Equations: opens with a short note on what to expect from this chapter in the exam, then moves through 1-mark, 2-mark, 3-mark, and 5-mark questions built around balancing equations and identifying reaction types.
  • Acids, Bases and Salts: frames the chapter with what it tests and how to use the page, then works through the same four marks bands, focusing on indicators, pH, and salt preparation reactions.
  • Electricity: the only Physics chapter live so far. Its 1- to 3-mark sets check definitions and short concepts, while its 5-mark set is numerical practice — not descriptive long answers.

The remaining ten chapters are coming soon. No links yet — this list is here so you know what is still pending:

  • Metals and Non-metals
  • Carbon and its Compounds
  • Life Processes
  • Control and Coordination
  • How do Organisms Reproduce?
  • Heredity
  • Light – Reflection and Refraction
  • The Human Eye and the Colourful World
  • Magnetic Effects of Electric Current
  • Our Environment

For the syllabus these questions are drawn from, the official NCERT textbook page is the authoritative source to check against your prescribed edition.

How to Use This Class 10 Science Important Questions Page

Ch Chapter notes Key topics covered
1 Chemical Reactions and Equations What to Expect from This Chapter in the Exam · 1-Mark Questions (Very Short Answer) · 2-Mark Questions (Short Answer I)
2 Acids, Bases and Salts What This Chapter Tests and How to Use This Page · 1-Mark Important Questions (Very Short Answer) · 2-Mark Important Questions (Short Answer I)
3 Metals and Non-metals (coming soon)
4 Carbon and its Compounds (coming soon)
5 Life Processes (coming soon)
6 Control and Coordination (coming soon)
7 How do Organisms Reproduce? (coming soon)
8 Heredity (coming soon)
9 Light – Reflection and Refraction (coming soon)
10 The Human Eye and the Colourful World (coming soon)
11 Electricity What This Electricity Practice Set Covers · 1 Mark Important Questions from Electricity (Very Short Answer) · 2 Marks Important Questions from Electricity
12 Magnetic Effects of Electric Current (coming soon)
13 Our Environment (coming soon)

Don’t jump straight to the long answers. Work through each chapter page in the order the marks bands appear:

  1. Find your chapter in the table above.
  2. Start with the 1-mark questions to check that you know the definitions and terms cold.
  3. Move to the 2-mark and 3-mark short answers once recall is solid.
  4. Finish with the 5-mark set — but remember it isn’t always descriptive. Electricity’s 5-mark questions are numerical practice, unlike the structured long answers you’ll find in Chemical Reactions and Equations or Acids, Bases and Salts.

Skipping straight to 5-mark answers without clearing the 1-mark set first is where most revision time gets wasted — the easy marks get missed, not the hard ones.

How Marks Are Distributed Across Chemistry, Physics and Biology Chapters

Here is a chapter-to-strand map. It’s useful if you’d rather revise by subject strand than by textbook chapter order.

Strand Chapters Status
Chemistry Chemical Reactions and Equations, Acids Bases and Salts, Metals and Non-metals, Carbon and its Compounds 2 of 4 live
Physics Light – Reflection and Refraction, The Human Eye and the Colourful World, Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Electric Current 1 of 4 live
Biology Life Processes, Control and Coordination, How do Organisms Reproduce?, Heredity, Our Environment 0 of 5 live

Right now, Chemistry has the most coverage with two live pages, while Physics and Biology have one and zero respectively. Keep this in mind if you’re planning which strand to revise first while the rest of the pages are built.

What’s Inside Each Chapter’s Important Questions Page

Every live chapter page follows the same rough shape: an exam-expectation note at the top, followed by 1-mark, 2-mark, 3-mark, and 5-mark question sets with model answers.

The naming of that opening note isn’t identical across chapters, and that difference tells you something about the chapter itself. Chemical Reactions and Equations calls it “What to Expect from This Chapter in the Exam”. Acids, Bases and Salts calls it “What This Chapter Tests and How to Use This Page”. Electricity calls it “What This Electricity Practice Set Covers” — and its 5-mark section is explicitly labelled “Numerical Practice” rather than long-answer questions.

Common Mistakes Students Make When Using Important Questions Pages

  • Skipping the 1-mark definitions. Students head straight for 3- and 5-mark answers and lose easy marks on terms they never revised. Fix: clear the 1-mark set for a chapter before moving on.
  • Answering numericals like descriptive questions. In Electricity’s 5-mark set, writing only a final number without showing the formula, substitution, and unit costs marks. Fix: write all three steps every time — formula, substitution, unit.
  • Revising Acids, Bases and Salts through definitions only. Many students skip the 3-mark questions that combine two concepts, such as a reaction plus its observation. Fix: attempt the combined questions directly instead of isolated definition recall.

FAQs on Class 10 Science Important Questions

Which Class 10 Science chapters have important questions pages live right now?

Chemical Reactions and Equations, Acids, Bases and Salts, and Electricity are live. The other ten chapters listed in the table are coming soon.

Are the Electricity important questions mostly numerical or theory based?

Both. The 1- to 3-mark questions check definitions and short concepts, but the 5-mark set is numerical practice — you’re expected to show formula, substitution, and unit at each step.

Should I revise Class 10 Science important questions chapter by strand (Chemistry, Physics, Biology) or in textbook order?

Either works, but if you’re short on time, revise by strand using the table above so you cover all the live pages in one strand before moving to the next.

How are the important questions grouped on each chapter page?

By marks: 1-mark, 2-mark, 3-mark, and 5-mark sets, each with model answers. Most pages open with a short note on what the chapter tests in the exam.

When will chapters like Metals and Non-metals or Life Processes be added to this page?

They are planned but not live yet. This page will list them as active with a working link once their important-questions pages are published.

Are these important questions enough on their own for Class 10 Science board exam revision?

No. They are a focused revision tool for practising exam-style questions, not a replacement for the NCERT textbook. Use them alongside your textbook and class notes.
